In Warwick Valley, New York, your local Rotary chapter engages in many meaningful projects that touch and assist peoples' lives. We are a local group of area business men and women here in Warwick, and with many similar clubs across our nation and the world, comprise the leading and most effective private sector organization, 'Rotary International', whose aim is to assist and elevate our fellow man. Our projects are broad. Both local and global. Our generous donations have nearly eradicated polio world wide. We are the largest single funder of foreign student exchange programs. We donate to any real need whether it be the cost of a new well in a small South American village where drinking water is contaminated, prosthetic legs for poor land mine victims in Granada, aid to abused children and battered wives locally, or leadership training for our brightest young Warwick students. Our club members donate generously themselves and run many fund raisers to promote these causes.

The mission of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

• High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society

We congratulate the many students who were awarded Rotary scholarships to help them attain their educational goals. Scholarships available through The Rotary Foundation often make the difference in a student's ability to attend college. As the state budget crisis intensifies and tuition increases, funding for scholarships becomes more critical.

Rotary Foundation scholarships don't just appear. Rotarians and individuals from Warwick who see the potential of our students and for our community create them.
